To ask the Prime Minister if she will make it her policy to support the establishment of a permanent Select Committee of this House to study ethical problems arising out of new developments in the practice of science, technology and medicine and to make recommendations.

The Prime Minister

The consideration of such ethical problems is already within the terms of reference of the appropriate departmental Select Committees. Any changes in the existing Select Committee structure would be a matter for the House.
