§ Mr. FreemanThe changes to servicemen's allowances announced earlier this year were designed to ensure that they would be up to date, and appropriate to the requirements of modern service life, to support accompanied service and compensate for family mobility. Retention rates are kept continuously under review, and we are examining a variety of ways in which they might be improved further.
