HC Deb 07 November 1988 vol 140 cc29-30W
Mr. Hinchliffe

To ask the Secretary of State for Defence if the service records of Army personel, involved in British nuclear tests in the 1950s and whose records were not available to the NRPB report, will be made available for subsequent reports; and what assessment he has made on the effect of the absence of these records on the accuracy of the findings of the NRPB report.

Mr. Sainsbury

The confidence of the authors in the validity of the findings of the NRPB report takes into account that some participants were not included. As I stated in an answer given to the hon. Member on 31 October, column 525, consideration is being given to improving coverage during the follow up study, the effect

months, excluding those committed to prison in default of payment of a fine, and including persons sentenced to detention in a young offenders' centre.
