§ Mr. Peter MorrisonTable 1 gives the costs of heating a standardised two bedroom house in the four regions requested. For any region the costs will vary according to the type of fuel utilised and the level of house insulation. Table II gives current and price deflated indices for fuel used for domestic heating. In real terms the cost of heating a house (irrespective of the fuel used) is lower in 1988 than at any time since 1981.
