§ Mr. AltonTo ask the Secretary of State for Northern Ireland what is his policy on harmonisation in line with the Irish Republic on proscription of membership of certain organisations.
§ Mr. Ian StewartIt is Government policy in Northern Ireland to proscribe those organisations which are actively and primarily engaged in the commission of criminal terrorist acts in the Province. The question of proscribing terrorist organisations in the Republic is a matter for the Irish Government.
