HC Deb 02 November 1988 vol 139 c675W
16. Dr. Bray

To ask the Secretary of State for the Environment what will be the total expenditure by his Department on research at the Plymouth marine laboratory of the natural environment in the year 1988–89, and by how much the planned expenditure has been reduced since 27 September.

Mr. Ridley

The Plymouth marine laboratory is a valued and competitive contractor. Planned contracts for research for my Department on a range of environmental issues are likely to exceed £650,000 in 1988–89. This figure has not been subject to any recent reductions.
