§ Mr. Harry BarnesTo ask the Secretary of State for Social Security whether he has plans to extend the amounts of income that are disregarded for the calculation of housing benefit purposes in connection with war disablement and war widows' pensions.
§ Mr. Peter LloydNo. War disablement and war widow's pensions already receive special treatment with a statutory disregard of £5 per week in all the income-related benefits. For housing benefit local authorities have the same discretion now as they had under the old scheme to disregard further amounts of these pensions.
