On 31 December 1986, the latest date for which information is available centrally, there were 62,112 beds in private hospitals, homes and clinics registered under section 23 of the Registered Homes Act 1984. Details from Form SBH 212 are published annually and are available in the Library.214W
Serivce. Their annual accounts do not separately indentify such expenditure but, given the level of their total expenditure, that on agency staff is not thought to be significant.
