§ Mr. NichollsIn addition to the Mines and Quarries Act 1954 the new legislation will replace the Mines Management Act 1971, approximately 50 sets of national regulations and many local regulations made under the 1954 Act. A small number of regulations made under the Health and Safety at Work etc. Act 1974, before the start of the legislative renewal programme, will also be replaced.
