§ Mr. BlairTo ask the Chancellor of the Duchy of Lancaster if he will list the total expenditure by the Central Office of Information on the Government's action for cities programme for each month since its inception.
§ Mr. Kenneth Clarke[holding answer 18 May 1988]: The only significant expenditure incurred by the Central Office of Information was approximately £34,400 for the launch of the action for cties programme on 7 March. This represents a very small part of the Government's expenditure of approximately £3,000 million each year on inner cities programmes.
