§ 18. Mr. RaffanTo ask the Secretary of State for Wales if he will make a statement on his policy on signposting on the A55 of tourist attractions in Rhyl and Prestatyn and on the costs and future maintenance of the signs.
§ Mr. Wyn RobertsTo be eligible for signing from a trunk road an attraction must have over 25,000 visitors a year, be within 20 miles of the nearest junction, have adequate parking and be open for 50 days or more a year. My officials have recently written to Rhuddlan borough council agreeing to signs for Rhyl and Prestatyn at the A55/A525 junction.
It is our policy that the full costs of tourist attraction signs, including on-costs such as maintenance, should be paid by the operators of attractions.
