§ 27. Mr. SquireTo ask the Secretary of State for the Environment if he is satisfied with the rate of progress in the use of lead-free petrol.
§ Mr. MoynihanBefore the Budget, the level of use of unleaded petrol was disappointingly low, and my right hon. Friend the Chancellor of the Exchequer therefore increased the duty differential in its favour. Use of the new fuel is increasing, but it is too early to say whether the rate of progress is satisfactory.
§ 70. Ms. WalleyTo ask the Secretary of State for the Environment when he envisages the attainment of 10 per cent. supply of unleaded petrol in United Kingdom garages.
§ Mr. MoynihanI expect 10 per cent. of United Kingdom garages to be selling unleaded petrol by about the end of this year.
