§ Mr. Donald ThompsonFor the calendar year 1987 the total amount of canary seed imported into the United Kingdom was 10,300 tonnes. The import levy payable on this canary seed varied between £15.78 and £45.62 per tonne.
In its price-fixing proposal for 1988–89 the Commission of the European Communities has proposed that this import levy be aligned with that for barley which over the same period varied between £112.48 and £124.63 per tonne.
