The change in the method of collection of national (England and Wales) hospital data between 1985 and 1987 means that there will be no English data analysed for 1986 and 1987 on mode of delivery. Hospital statistics for Wales from 1982 are the responsibility of my right hon. Friend the Secretary of State for Wales. The data shown for 1987 are provisional.
