To ask the Chancellor of the Exchequer if the Government have yet examined the proposals of the Public Accounts Committee on financial reports to Parliament; and if he will make a statement.

Mr. Major

The Government's proposals on financial reporting to Parliament, in response to the eighth report of 1986–87 of the Committee of Public Accounts (HC 98), and to the second report of 1987–88 of the Treasury and Civil Service Committee (HC 22), were sent to the respective Committees on 29 April and were published on Friday 6 May—Cm. 375.
