§ Mr. LangThe table shows present estimates of the average rate bill paid by a domestic ratepayer and the estimated level of community charge which would be 111W necessary to replace domestic rate income in 1988–89. Neither set of figures reflects the rate reduction of 5.6p proposed for Lothian regional council. The community charge figures are those that would be required to raise the same revenue for each authority in domestic rates in the current year. They do not represent forecasts of the level of charge when the new system is introduced in 1989–90.
