HL Deb 11 May 1988 vol 496 cc1213-4WA
Baroness Jeger

asked Her Majesty's Government:

What changes are being made in the social security income of disabled people who have been allowed to work part-time with an earnings disregard of £4 weekly; and whether such claimants will be eligible for a disability premium.

Lord Skelmersdale

People who receive income support and who are entitled to the disability premium will be entitled to the higher (£15) disregard if they work part-time. Entitlement to the disability premium depends on whether the person satisfies the criteria for receiving it, as set out in paragraphs 11 and 12 of Schedule 2 to the Income Support (General) Regulations 1987. Similar provisions apply to people who receive housing benefit.
