To ask the Secretary of State for Social Services if he has had any interim report on the Rotherham district health authority's 1988–89 cost improvement programme; and if he will make a statement.

Mr. Newton

The Trent regional health authority's short-term programme for 1988–89 identified planned recurrent cost improvement savings of £0.38 million in Rotherham health authority.
