To ask the Minister for the Arts what is his current estimate of new business sponsorship of the Arts in 1988–89.

The level of business sponsorship has been steadily increasing, especially following the introduction of the business sponsorship incentive scheme in 1984. The estimate for 1988–89 is that the sponsorship figure will be over £30 million.
