§ 5. Mr. David Davis
To ask the Minister of Agriculture, Fisheries and Food what is the latest position on monetary compensatory amounts in the intensive livestock sector.

In the price fixing I am seeking to reduce MCAs for all commodity sectors, and to abolish them in the pigmeat sector, on which there are separate technical issues.

§ 12. Mr. Michael Brown
To ask the Minister of Agriculture, Fisheries and Food what is the current level of negative monetary compensatory amounts faced by the pigmeat sector; and what it was six months ago.

§ Mr. MacGregor
The United Kingdom MCA for pigmeat currently stands at —4.9 per cent. as compared to—10.9 per cent. at the beginning of November 1987.
