To ask the Secretary of State for Scotland what information he has as to the reasons why kidney transplants have had to be discontinued at the Western infirmary; and if he will make a statement.

I understand that the kidney transplantation programme at the Western infirmary is being carried out at broadly the same level as in previous years. The only constraint is the availability of donated organs.
