To ask the Minister for the Arts what representations he has received on the level of public funding of libraries, in the light of the proposals in the Green Paper Cm. 324.

To ask the Minister for the Arts what consultations he will be having in relation to the Green Paper on the financing of libraries.

My Green Paper invites public comment on the measures put forward. when I have fully considered all the views expressed, I will, as necessary, consult formally on the means to give effect to the Government's objectives.
