To ask the Secretary of State for Defence if, pursuant to the answer of 9 March,Official Report, columns 213–4, he will list by Civil Service grade the number of officials employed by his Department located outside London.

The Ministry of Defence employs officials in more than 430 different non-industrial grades and 530 different industrial grades. The requested information is not held centrally and could be provided only at disproportionate cost.
