HC Deb 23 March 1988 vol 130 c142W
31. Dr. Godman

To ask the Secretary of State for Scotland when he last discussed the Inverclyde initiative with Sir Robin Duthie, chairman of the Scottish Development Agency; and if he will make a statement.

Mr. Lang

The Secretary of State for Scotland regularly meets the chairman of the Scottish Development Agency to discuss the whole range of activities of the agency, including the Inverclyde initiative.

The Government remain fully committed to the regeneration of Inverclyde, in particular to its support, through the Scottish Development Agency, for the Inverclyde initiative. The initiative has already made substantial progress and I am encouraged by the further developments planned and in hand.
