§ 43. Mr. FavellTo ask the Secretary of State for Scotland what plans he has to encourage free enterprise in Scotland.
§ Mr. LangThe Government can best encourage enterprise by providing the right economic climate for businesses to set up and expand in order to create wealth and provide jobs.
Enterprise is further stimulated by the Government's policies on competition, privatisation and deregulation.
In addition, the enterprise initiative launched in January will provide fresh impetus to the continuing drive to enhance the enterprise culture in Scotland.
