HC Deb 23 March 1988 vol 130 c144W
39. Mr. Bill Walker

To ask the Secretary of State for Scotland if he has any plans to change the way crime prevention panels are selected and appointed; and if he will make a statement.

Lord James Douglas-Hamilton

Crime prevention panels are non-statutory bodies set up on the initiative of chief constables. Appointments to them are best left to local decision by the chief constable concerned.
