HC Deb 22 March 1988 vol 130 cc83-4W
Mr. Robert Banks

To ask the Secretary of State for Social Services how many students have been taken through courses at the White Hart training centre in Harrogate; at what cost per student-course type; and if he has any comparable figures for private college training.

Mr. Newton

I regret that information is not available in the form requested. However, information supplied by the NHS training authority based on figures available for the past two and a half years shows an annual average of 378 separate courses at the White Hart training centre consisting of 13,188 trainee days or 35 trainees per course. The average cost is £1,423 per course or £41 per trainee day. Private institutions used by the authority to provide similar management education and development courses to those provided at the training centre charge the authority around £200 per trainee day.
