§ Mr. LeeAccording to figures for England produced by the English tourist board, the information as at 23 February 1988 is as follows:
Category Number Listed 2,147 1 crown 573 2 crowns 3,009 3 crowns 1,801 4 crowns 1,215 5 crowns 251 Total 8,996 Six of the 5-crown graded hotels have also been given the five gold crown award. Of those establishments which have applied, 125 have failed to meet the criteria for classification.
