To ask the Secretary of State for Transport how many private cars are at present registered with the Driver and Vehicle Licensing Centre, Swansea.

As at December 1987, 17,421,236 car body-type vehicles were currently licensed and registered at the driver and vehicle licensing centre; 15,251,312 of these were registered in the names of individuals, as distinct from companies.
