§ Mr. NewtonStatistics on children and young persons removed to a place of safety during the year ending 31 March 1987 are given for 87 local authorities in the provisional feedback "Children Removed to a Place of Safety, England, 1987", copies of which are available in the Library. Information subsequently received from a further 18 local authorities is shown in the table.
These figures relate to cases where the local authority was responsible for the removal to a place of safety or where the local authority made provision for a child removed by the authority of some other person or body.
