§ The Attorney-GeneralNo records are kept of the ethnic origin of members of the judiciary. As at 16 March 1988, there were 20 women judges, comprising one Lord Justice of Appeal, two High Court Judges and 17 circuit judges. The total number of Court of Appeal, High Court and circuit judges in England and Wales is at present 500.
