Since 1 January this year, one petition forwarded by an hon. Member has been received and three hon. Members and 17 members of the public have written seeking free television licences for pensioners.

28. Mr. Latham

To ask the Secretary of State for the Home Department whether he is now in a position to announce his decision on applications for concessionary television licences, following the Kirklees judgment.

Mr. Renton

We hope to do so shortly.
