HC Deb 16 March 1988 vol 129 cc602-3W
53. Mr. Rowe

To ask the Secretary of State for the Environment how many representations he has received on the planning implications of the proposal to site a motorway service area at Hollingbourne on the M20.

Mr. Waldegrave

The Department of Transport's and Esso Petroleum Company Limited's proposals to construct a motorway service area on the same site on the M20 at Hollingbourne were considered at a public local inquiry held last month. Fifty two representations on the proposals were received by Maidstone borough council and an additional three by the Department. Others may have been made at the inquiry, but until the inspector's report is received I am unable to say how many representations were made on planning grounds.
