§ Mr. FreemanAll widows who lost their husbands in action in world war 2 receive a war widow's pension from the Department of Health and Social Security. Additional pensions are paid by the Ministry of Defence to the526W widows of warrant officers class I and equivalents and to the widows of commissioned officers, where certain qualifications were met, including the completion by the husband of the appropriate minimum period of qualifying service.
