§ Mr. Hurd[holding answer 7 March 1988]: I understand that my hon. Friend the Member for Southend, East (Mr. Taylor) was interviewed by an officer of the Metropolitan police on 10 April 1986 and a file of papers was then recorded as lost property. I further understand that the file was later found and that no other police inquiries were made.
