To ask the Secretary of State for Foreign and Commonwealth Affairs if he has any information regarding the alleged supply via food aid of European Economic Community radioactive contaminated food-stuffs to Third world countries; and if he will make a statement.

We have no evidence that any of the European Community's food aid consignments have exceeded the maximum levels of radioactivity permitted for the Community's exports of foodstuffs; these levels are the same as those permitted for imports from third countries.
