The first payment of family credit for those currently in receipt of family income supplement will be made on 12 April 1988. This will be a full week's payment but will in effect be made simply to cover the transitional gap of one day (11 April).

The first payment of family credit for those not currently in receipt of family income supplement will be made on 19 April 1988 and this payment will cover the period from Tuesday 12 April 1988 to Monday 18 April 1988.
