§ Mr. John PattenThe number of disqualifications imposed by the courts in each year from 1977 to 1986 is published in table 16 of Home Office statistical bulletin, issue 36/87, "Offences Relating To Motor Vehicles, England and Wales 1986", copies of which are in the Library. It is estimated on the basis of records held on the police national computer that about 240,000 persons are currently disqualified from driving in Great Britain.
