To ask the Secretary of State for Education and Science what proportions of polytechnic teachers and heads of departments in polytechnics are women.

At March 1986, the latest date for which information is available, 15.9 per cent. of full-time teachers, and 7.8 per cent. of full-time heads of departments in polytechnics in England and Wales were women.
