HC Deb 08 March 1988 vol 129 cc120-1W
Mr. Alan Williams

To ask the Secretary of State for the Environment on how many occasions, where, and on what dates, his Department has initiated, or been actively involved in, derelict land clearance operations outside England, since 1969.

Mr. Ridley

In the period in question, the statutory responsibilities of the Secretary of State for the Environment for derelict land reclamation have been confined to England, though on occasions initiatives launched in England have been of benefit to other parts of Great Britain and collaboration has always taken place between those involved in derelict land clearance programmes throughout Great Britain.
