§ Mr. Atkins[holding answer 7 March 1988]: The automotive industry is eligible to receive assistance through all the Department of Trade and Industry initiatives for innovation which were announced in the White Paper "DTI — the department for Enterprise". This was placed before the House on 12 January 1988 by the Chancellor of the Duchy of Lancaster.
