§ Mr. Michael ForsythAssistance with clothing under section 54 of the Education (Scotland) Act 1980 is available only where a pupil is unable to take full advantage of the education offered because of the inadequacy or unsuitability of his clothing. This is a matter for decision by education authorities in the circumstances of individual cases and no central guidance has been issued.
