HC Deb 04 March 1988 vol 128 c737W
Mr. McCrindle

To ask the Secretary of State for Transport what action is being taken to improve the safety of pedestrians intending to cross trunk roads; whether he has consulted the Ramblers Association on such matters; and if he will make a statement.

Mr. Peter Bottomley

The most appropriate means of securing pedestrians' safety will depend on the characteristics of the road concerned and the needs of all who use it. We are always happy to have the views of the Ramblers Association on any particular problem spots and on safety generally.
