HC Deb 04 March 1988 vol 128 c741W
Mr. Cohen

To ask the Secretary of State for Foreign and Commonwealth Affairs how many subject access requests under the terms of the Data Protection Act his Department has received; what was his estimate of this number; whether he is reconsidering the subject access fee charged by his Department as a result; and whether he will make a statement.

Mr. Eggar

The diplomatic and aid wings together have so far received 26 requests for subject access, all from present or former members of staff: this figure is in line with forecasts of likely numbers of applications. There is no proposal to change the arrangements for charges set out in my reply to the hon. Member on 30 October 1987 at column478.
