To ask the Secretary of State for Defence what is the total number of rescue sorties carried out by the Royal Navy helicopter flight at Lee-on-Solent in each year since 1979.

The total number of rescue sorties carried out by the Royal Navy helicopter flight at Lee-on-Solent since 1983 is as follows1983 155, 1984 121, 1985 125, 1986 119, 1987 136 Information on sorties prior to 1983 could be provided only with disproportionate effort.
