To ask the Secretary of State for Scotland what are the latest unemployment figures in the agriculture and food sectors of the economy in the Motherwell, North constituency.

Information on unemployment by industry grouping is not available. However the total number unemployed in the Motherwell, North constituency in January 1988 was 5,817. This represents a fall of 1,135 or 16 per cent. since January 1987.
