§ Mr. NewtonFor outturn expenditure information by district for 1986–87 I refer the hon Member to appendix D of the Department's annual booklet "Health Authorities' Annual Accounts — National Summary (England)" — copies of which are held in the Library. Equivalent information for 1987–88 will not be available until the autumn.
The Department has not until recently routinely collected informaton on an income and expenditure basis in-year. The first routine monitoring of health authorities' spending on an income and expenditure basis will cover the period from 1 April to 30 June 1988 although this information is to be collected by region rather than by individual district health authorities.
