§ Mr. Ian StewartThe last so-called "Irish named" regiment to serve in Northern Ireland was the Queens Royal Irish Hussars, which deployed a squadron to Northern Ireland in 1982. The 5th Royal Inniskilling Dragoon Guards served in Northern Ireland in 1981. These have been the only deployments of formed units in the last 10 years. However, individual members of all four Irish named regiments have regularly served in Northern Ireland during the period.
