§ 32. Mr. Hunter
To ask the Secretary of State for Defence if he has any plans to change his policy with regard to the monitoring and surveillance of HIV infection and AIDS in the armed forces; and if he will make a statement.
§ Mr. Freeman
There are currently no plans to change the MOD policy on monitoring and surveillance of HIV216W infection and AIDS in the armed forces, which accords with the Government policy on employment. Within the services those who consider themselves to have been at risk are encouraged to undergo voluntary screening and to seek immediate confidential advice from their unit medical officers.
