To ask the Secretary of State for Transport how many new bypasses are scheduled to open in the south-western region in the near future; and if he will make a statement.

Four new trunk road bypasses will open in July. The Blackwater bypass in Cornwall will open early in the month. I hope soon to perform three opening ceremonies at Bridport in Dorset, Ilminster in Somerset, and—the most significant of all for the west country—Okehampton in Devon.
